We were engaged as an interior specialist when our client was looking to renovate their 1980’s terrace overlooking Melbourne’s iconic Port Phillip Bay. The building is predictably long and narrow, with limited natural light. So we were mindful to locate key spaces around a distinct central courtyard that punctuates all levels of the three-storey building. Thus, spilling light throughout the interiors and enabling many surrounding rooms to have a tranquil garden outlook. The central oasis is further enhanced by an inviting plunge pool, which inspired the interior scheme. Overall the design speaks to the client’s desire for elegant monochromatic interiors that play with texture.
